Too late to apologize

So I might have kind of forgotten that this blog existed....

BUT NOW I AM GOING TO UPDATE YOU WITH MY LIFE! Yaaaaay!

Classes started last week. I only have three: American History, Ecology, and the Witch-hunts and Folk Belief.

American History is super easy. If it wasn't, I would seriously question my schooling since I learned this history every year for like 10 years.

Ecology is also super easy. Compared to the fun times that was Foundations last year, this class is a joke. The teacher likes to treat us like we are 5. That's awesome. Hopefully it will become a little bit more challenging as time goes on.

I love my Witch-hunts and Folk Belief class. The professor is awesome and funny and so far the readings are interesting. Also it is a level 3 class so the work load is comparable to the amount of work in my history classes back home.

Granted, I still haven't bought any of my text books because I JUST OPENED MY BANK ACCOUNT ON MONDAY. Getting a bank letter was the worst experience of my life. But it's opened and hopefully I get my debt card soon from them so I can go to the book store. But I did try and go today in order to get the sourcebook for my Witch-hunts class but it wasn't in the store. So I ended up ordering it off Amazon because I need that book as soon as possible. Yaaaaay!

Oh also we had typical Scottish weather today. The last couple of weeks it has been very nice. Today it was overcast and rainy. And it turns out the hood on my rain coat doesn't cover my whole head so water was still like rushing down my face and smudging my glasses.

And that's it. Nothing else really interesting that has happened. I will eventually post the blog entry about going to Stirling Castle and the distillery on the Friday of orientation week.

Till next time, wash your feet!

Edin-bru

The past couple of days have not been eventful. We went out, had some drinks, went to sleep, registered for classes. MAN WAS THAT A PROCESS...

But that'll be another blog on another day after I am completely done.

So after all the stress of the past few days, Nikole and I decided to skip out of the orientation program planned for the day and go to Edinburgh. BECAUSE IT'S LIKE AN HOUR AND HALF AWAY BY BUS. And now the tale of the day:

The adventure began at 9:00 when we walked from our flat to the city center, which is about a 20 to 25 minute walk. So we arrived at Buchanan bus station with plenty of time and actually got on an earlier bus. Then we listened to Franz and fell asleep...good times.

When we arrived, it was raining so we went into the shopping complex next to the bus station and walked around, making jokes about One Direction, getting UK chargers for our 3DSs, and looking at cute clothes. TOO BAD I DON'T HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT YET.

But anyways,we then decided to walk up and down high street. LOOK AT ALL OF THESE FANTASTIC PHOTOS:

 Asian pose!

We made it to the castle but we didn't want to pay....so we just turned back around. We also went and walked around the children's museum which was really nice and cute. It gave us lots of nostalgic feelings about Winnie-the-Pooh. Except the line for the bathroom was really long.

For the sake of irony, we ate dinner at an American restaurant. But it was really funny because the pizza was "Chicago-style"....it wasn't Chicago style, it was thin crust. Otherwise it was a fun day! We kept making jokes about One Direction and then fell asleep on the bus on the way back.

Learning is fun. Especially with screaming small children.

So today, after a very lazy morning, Nikole, my dad, and I decided to do a little exploring of the area and go down to the River Clyde, which is literally like 3 blocks away. From the walkway toward the bridge, we got to see something really cool.
It was BBC Scotland. I didn't try to break in today though. I'll save that for another time.

After that, we decided to go into the GSC (Glasgow Science Centre) which was super cool.

They had a lot of interactive exhibits and we had a good time learning about science. WHICH IS AWESOME. And they had a really cool exhibit on how our bodies work.

We did some tests to see how tall we were, how our grip strength was, balancing, etc etc. We were all pretty terrible. There were also a lot of cool mini games that you could play as well. It was a really neat place and I recommend going there if you ever find yourself in Glasgow. Also they have a really good sandwich (smoked salmon and avocado).

For dinner, we went out to a pub where I had a delicious tasting cider. It's the first one where it actually tasted like apples. Then Nikole and I split a tasty wild mushroom in stilton creme appetizer and a pork roast completed with Yorkshire pudding.

And then don't forget the dessert - sticky toffee pudding. Yummmm.

Neale tried to get me to order him a pint. But I wouldn't budge. They had nice restrooms though.

Tomorrow is the start of something new orientation. I will finally get to register! Hopefully, everything works out.

Cider Cider

I have decided to go with a "C" theme for my title. That will probably change.

I HAVE ARRIVED IN GLASGOW! The flights were pretty much uneventful. And yesterday I was so tired that I almost fell asleep while having dinner with my dad and his friends. It was awesome.

But now I have moved into my flat. And had Indian food. And went to the pub.
(Cider is really tasty).

I had to buy hangers, that was super fun. But my room is neat and organized. I'll post pictures later...if I remember. Soon we will have other flat mates but right now it is just me and Nikole. Which is really nice for right now.

And so far, I have been able to understand 95% of what people are saying. That's good.
And a really cute guy checked me in. That was awesome.

Tomorrow is going to be an adventure since we have nothing to do. Then orientation starts on Monday. SUPER FUN!

Maybe I'll post something actually interesting one day...probably not.

Chicago!

 Flight Update-09/05-1:38 pm

So my journey has begun. One flight down. Two more to go. Yaaaaaaay!

Currently, I am taking advantage of my father's frequent flier status and am sitting in the United club with him hijacking helping myself to their internet and chocolate covered raisins. Yummm raisins. I think we might steal some for the plane. Cause airplane food sucks.

Our next flight leaves in about an hour. Hopefully it will be on time. This is O'Hare though...so no promises.

But the good thing is that we have extra leg room on this flight. That is the highlight.

Till next time. I hope Neale doesn't drink too much beer.

Countdown

I leave September 5th. That's really close. I haven't even finished packing.

WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE?

But luckily, everything is piled in a corner. It just needs to be, ya know, packed. In suitcases. That are under 50 lbs. It's so much work fun!

At least I finished printing off all the stuff I needed to. Now I just need to not forget the folder and everything will be set.

I could talk about my feelings. But I won't. Instead I'll end this really boring blogpost with this picture:

HAPPY TRAVELS!
